Not only can you stop in to check out our ever expanding options BUT we now deliver locally AND we also ship any non-vape related products! You heard me right! We can now ship ThcA right to your door!

But first, what exactly is THCA? Let's break it down for you:

ThcA stands for Tetrahydrocannabinolic acid. It is a non-psychoactive compound found in cannabis plants, particularly in the resin glands of the female marijuana plant. ThcA is the precursor to THC (delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol), which is the psychoactive component responsible for the "high" associated with cannabis use.

In its natural form, ThcA is non-psychoactive. However, if the cannabis product is heated sufficiently to convert ThcA into THC before consumption, then the psychoactive effects can be experienced. This is why smoking or vaporizing cannabis will produce a high, as the heat applied during these processes activates the THC.

The effects of smoking THCA-containing cannabis will largely depend on the amount of THCA present, the potency of the strain, and individual factors such as tolerance and metabolism. Generally, the effects will include:

Psychoactive effects: THC is the primary psychoactive compound in cannabis and is responsible for the "high" or altered state of consciousness experienced by users. This can include feelings of euphoria, relaxation, increased sensory perception, altered perception of time, and changes in mood and cognition.

Therapeutic effects: THC also has potential therapeutic properties, including pain relief, appetite stimulation, nausea reduction, and muscle relaxation. These effects can be beneficial for individuals seeking relief from various medical conditions.

Potential side effects: Smoking cannabis, including THCA-containing varieties, can also lead to side effects such as dry mouth, red eyes, increased heart rate, impaired coordination, memory impairment, and anxiety or paranoia, particularly in high doses or in individuals sensitive to THC.

Overall, when you smoke cannabis containing THCA, the primary outcome is the activation of THC and subsequent psychoactive and therapeutic effects associated with this cannabinoid.

What’s the difference between THCa and THC?

Not a huge amount, actually. Without getting too deep into the science, THCa is simply the precursor to THC. It is a compound that converts to THC when exposed to heat. When heat is applied to THCa flowers, the THCa decarboxylates, resulting in it losing one of its carboxyl groups and converting into THC. THC has a very similar structure to anandamide, one of the cannabinoids that naturally occur in the human body, making it very easily absorbed by our systems.

Is THCa Flower Actually Legal?

That really depends on where you live. Although the FDA does not explicitly ban the production and sale of THCa flowers – which essentially makes THCa flowers legal at the federal level – certain states do ban it. This is due to the fact that THCa is the precursor to THC. At the time of writing, there are only four states within the continental United States that explicitly ban THCa flower – We do not ship THCA products to the following states where THCA is restricted or illegal: Hawaii, Idaho, Minnesota, Oregon, Rhode Island, Utah, Vermont.

So, if you live outside these four states, buying and possessing THCa flower is legal!
